Quality Control Manager

Summary: The Quality Control Manager (QC Manager) will champion, support and lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with national and international standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control processes, laboratory testing, and project management. This role requires excellent leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality and safety. Will be responsible for assisting and working with management to successfully implement quality systems and processes to assure consistent quality in production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
· Oversee and manage the Quality Control department, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
· Gaining an understanding of the client’s needs and requirements and communicating them and the quality standards to the production teams.
· Setting up and maintaining quality controls and documentation.
· Devising ways to improve the manufacturing process to ensure higher-quality goods.
· Devising, improving, and reviewing new specifications and procedures for products or processes, and training staff to use them.
· Train, develop and mentor a strong and efficient quality team.
· Defining processes and procedures in conjunction with production staff.
· Ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated.
· Maintains and improves product quality by completing audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new processes and training methods.
· Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
· Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
· Work according to deadlines for the delivery of products
· Ensuring legal obligations are followed and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and with health and safety guidelines.
· Overseeing product development procedures to identify any deviations from quality standards.
· Inspecting the final output, comparing it to the requirements, and approving or rejecting the final products.
· Set and enforce standards for health and safety during work operations
· Gaining feedback from clients, attending meetings, submitting reports, and assisting external auditors and inspectors.
· Manage technicians to ensure they perform their duties in line with the established quality procedures.
· Follow quality GMP’s.
· Other duties as required by management.
Qualifications: (These examples do not include all of the duties which the employee may be expected to perform.) To perform this job successfully an individual must:
· 4 year advanced degree or equivalent experience
· 8 years of experience in quality control and assurance, preferably in a manufacturing environment
· Proven experience in managing a team and implementing quality control systems
· Strong attention to detail, observation, organizational, and leadership skills
· In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures and legal standards
· Strong knowledge of mathematics, data analysis, and statistical methods
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
· Able to read, write, and speak English and Spanish
· Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills
· Excellent communication and listening skills
· Experience with measuring equipment, SPC and quality systems.
· Knowledge of basic lean manufacturing tools (green or black belt desirable)
· Familiarity with lab equipment and test methods
· ISO or ANSI experience
