Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Art Teacher to help support our busy and growing Children's Art Studio. Must be able to work Weekends with additional hours available during School Breaks. Expanded hours available during the Summer months to lead our popular Summer Art Camps. The ideal candidate should be energetic, outgoing, and organized. Must have a passion for working with children and fostering a love for the arts. A background (or studying) Early Childhood Education, Art Education or Fine Arts a plus.
Duties
- Teach Weekend Art Classes, Parties and Events.
- Teacher for our Summer Art Camps
- Develop and prepare engaging art lessons in coordination with studio director for classes, parties, camps and events.
- Duties would include preparing samples, prepping materials and developing additional support materials, activities and games.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom space with necessary supplies and resources for art projects.
- Key holder position. Will train to open and close the studio, oversee any Studio Assistants and other studio operations including money handling and office management.
Skills
- Strong background in art education with experience in lesson planning and classroom management.
- Ability to mentor students effectively, fostering their artistic growth while considering individual needs.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles to create age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students, helping them develop their artistic skills and self-confidence.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- Creative problem-solving abilities to adapt lessons based on student feedback and needs.
- A passion for the arts that inspires students to explore their creativity.
