Art Restoration Projects

Art of DFW - Prism Specialties, the premier art restoration company in the Dallas / Fort Worth area is looking for an artist to handle restoration responsibilities with some project management duties.

We work with insurance companies, contractors, individuals and institutions to restore art and collectibles damaged by fire, water or breakage. We handle art, photographs, taxidermy, textiles, documents and all types of collectibles.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Fine Arts and a background in painting with good knowledge of Microsoft Excel. We are not looking for graphic designers.

Primary restoration responsibilities include:

• Disassemble and evaluate artwork to be cleaned, serviced and/or repaired.
• Clean, restore and re-assemble artwork to pre-loss condition.
• Select and order frames and other replacement items
• Framing and matting
• Communicate with art owners to update status of their artwork.
• Entry into damaged properties such as burnt /flooded buildings and homes as needed.
• Inventory, document, and evaluate artwork for restoration.
• Coordinate with Vice President of Restoration on job deadlines and priorities
• Coordinate with Logistics team on pick-up and delivery schedule

Primary project management responsibilities include:

• Use Excel based applications
• Review Restoration team processes for compliance
• Purchase art and other supplies as needed
• Oversee walk-in customers and obtain necessary paperwork regarding estimates and process their deposits and final payments.
• Serve as the department’s primary point of contact for contractors and clients.
• Communicate with art owners to update on the status of their artwork.

Requirements Include:

• Bachelors in Fine Arts.
• Painting background with an understanding of color matching.
• Photoshop experience a plus.
• Picture framing experience a plus.
• Excellent Customer Service skills, providing "white glove" service to our clients.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds as part of artwork pick-up and delivery activity.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
• Working knowledge of basic PC and Mac operations

Compensation

• The pay range is $16 to $22 per hour depending on relevant experience in restoration and project management.

Annual benefits for full time employees currently include:

• Accrued paid vacation and sick time.
