Retail Shopify Front-end Web Developer

We are looking for a creative and experienced B2C Shopify Front-end Web Developer to join our in-house team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in front-end development with a focus on Shopify. This role requires someone who can think innovatively to update and customize Shopify themes, optimize the online shopping experience, and ensure seamless integration of third-party retail tools.

You will collaborate closely with marketing, design, and merchandising teams to enhance user experience, implement new features, and drive conversions.

Key ResponsibilitiesShopify Theme Development & Customization

• Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify themes to create engaging and high-converting online retail stores.
• Implement custom features and functionality using Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Ensure seamless checkout processes and intuitive navigation to enhance customer experience.

Mobile & Responsive Design

• Ensure all Shopify store designs are fully responsive and optimized for mobile, tablet, and desktop users.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to responsiveness and site usability.

Performance & Conversion Rate Optimization

• Optimize website speed and performance for fast load times and smooth customer interactions.
• Implement A/B testing, UX enhancements, and data-driven improvements to increase conversions and retention.

E-Commerce Integrations & Functionality

• Integrate and configure third-party retail apps, including payment gateways, inventory management tools, and customer loyalty programs.
• Ensure seamless connections between Shopify, email marketing platforms, and analytics tools.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams

• Work closely with marketing, product, and customer experience teams to align design changes with business goals.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

• Identify and resolve technical issues related to Shopify, checkout flows, payment processing, and customer interactions.
• Test and debug websites to ensure smooth functionality across all browsers and devices.

SEO & User Experience Enhancements

• Implement SEO best practices to improve search engine rankings and organic traffic.
• Conduct user testing and analyze heatmaps or site analytics to refine the shopping experience.

Stay Up-to-Date with Retail E-Commerce Trends

• Keep up with the latest Shopify updates, e-commerce technologies, and digital retail trends.
• Explore innovative ways to enhance the customer journey and boost online sales.

Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Liquid (Shopify's templating language).
• Experience working with Shopify Plus, Shopify Apps, and Shopify API integrations.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, GraphQL, and third-party app integrations (Klaviyo, Yotpo, ReCharge, etc.).
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git).

E-Commerce & Design Skills

• Experience in UI/UX design for e-commerce with tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
• Understanding of conversion optimization strategies, customer experience design, and e-commerce psychology.

Experience

• 3 years of experience in front-end web development, with a focus on Shopify for retail brands.
• Proven experience in customizing Shopify themes, optimizing checkout experiences, and integrating e-commerce solutions.
• Experience with mobile-first design and performance-driven development.

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to ensure a seamless online shopping experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across multiple teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
