What are the responsibilities and job description for the Now Hiring: Graphic Designer and Production Lead (Location Manager) position at Art Riot Promotions?
About Us:
Art Riot Promotions is a high-energy custom apparel and merchandise company specializing in Direct to Garment (DTG) printing, Embroidery, Engraving, Vinyl, and more. We’re known for bold creativity, fast turnaround, and the ability to bring big ideas to life. We’re currently seeking a Graphic Designer and Production Lead to manage our Moorhead location. This is a unique hybrid role combining graphic design, production oversight, client interaction, and hands-on leadership. You will have your hand in every stage—from concept to final product.
What You’ll Do:
Production and Workflow
- Manage full-cycle production across DTG, embroidery, engraving, vinyl, and other methods.
- Ensure quality control and troubleshoot issues across various machines and platforms.
- Prepare accurate, print-ready files and adjust artwork for technical compatibility with different production techniques.
- Maintain and service production equipment according to manufacturer standards
(training provided).
Design and Creative Execution:
- Design logos, branding elements, and custom graphics using Adobe Creative Suite and CorelDRAW.
- Translate client ideas into production-ready artwork that aligns with branding and medium limitations.
- Stay current on design and production trends, fonts, colors, and application techniques.
Client Interaction and Sales:
- Work directly with new and existing customers to understand needs, quote projects, and build lasting relationships.
- Represent Art Riot at local events, vendor shows, and street fairs—offering on-the- spot consultations and closing sales.
- Oversee in-store operations and help grow location-based revenue through excellent service and creative insight.
Who You Are:
- A seasoned graphic designer with strong production knowledge—especially in apparel, custom merch, and engraving.
- Comfortable managing multiple deadlines, jumping between design and production tasks, and keeping cool under pressure.
- Confident working directly with clients—explaining creative concepts and production logistics clearly and professionally.
- Technically proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CorelDRAW (experience with RIP software, embroidery digitizing tools, or laser engraving software is a major plus).
- Self-driven, organized, and eager to grow in a creative, hands-on role.
- Experienced in people management.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field OR
- 2 years of professional experience in a hands-on design/production environment
- Strong portfolio showing both creative range and production-ready work
Perks and Benefits:
- Health, Dental & Vision Insurance
- Paid Time Off

- Creative freedom and leadership in a growing, dynamic company
- Training and development in cutting-edge production techniques
This Role is for You If You:
- Know how to match Pantones and prep embroidery files as easily as you design digital mockups.
- Are just as comfortable operating a DTG printer as you are adjusting kerning in Illustrator.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, creative workspace where no two days look the same.
- Supervise and direct team members in varying creative and production roles.
