FT Position - Bakery Lead
Description: Art’s Cafe is seeking a dynamic individual with a passion for sourdough baking, local grains, bakery production, pastry and business development/leadership
Responsibilities:
- Follow formulas accurately to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients; assist with ordering as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Lead the daily production of sourdough breads including determining batch sizes, mixing, shaping, baking
- Ensure consistency in bread production from mix to bake
- Support staff involved in pastry production to ensure quality and consistency
- Refine systems
- Work with the bread team to expand skills and product offerings
- Supporting offsite sales/marketing efforts
Skills
- 3-5 years of sourdough baking experience.
- Experience working with local whole grains.
- Proficient in baking techniques with experience in pastry creation.
- Strong understanding of food handling practices and food safety standards.
- Ability to use kitchen tools effectively, including knives and mixers.
- Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with a passion for quality craftsmanship in baked goods.
- Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary environment is preferred but not mandatory.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
