Commercial Construction Superintendent

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Have a thorough understanding of the project including the contract drawings, specification and addenda
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities, including training, direct work and problem solving
• Ensure all permits/licensing is visible, and all inspections have been documented
• Have excellent organizational and time management skills
• Plan, coordinate and direct all on site construction activities
• Monitor expenses to meet budget
• Take off material quantities correctly from drawings
• Read construction documents and build specific tasks associated with provided documents
• Have the ability to build square, level and plumb a specific project task using basic carpentry tools
• Meet with building Owners/Tenants to discuss build-out specifications, improvements and progress
• Maintain a daily job site activity log
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Have knowledge of how to build safety provisions including but not limited to: scaffolding, gang ladders, perimeter railings and fall protection, temporary covers, etc.
• Have the ability to install interior finish items including but not limited to: wall protection, doors/frames/hardware, toilet accessories, cubicle curtain track, etc.
• Have a working knowledge of different types of carpentry tools and how to use them safely (eg. Saws – band, circular, jib, reciprocating, chop, compound miter, etc., Drills – electric, cordless, hammer, etc.)
• Track inventory/delivery of job site supplies and materials
• Coordinate activities of the subcontractors to ensure schedule stays on track
• Communicate and enforce job site safety and rules with all workers on site

Must have:

• 5 years experience as a superintendent in the general construction industry (hospital experience a plus)
• Must have site-work/carpenter experience (general construction major building demolition a plus)
• Ability to work with numerous contractors/subcontractors in an efficient manner
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license (TRAVEL INVOLVED)
• Documented OSHA training (ICRA training a plus)
• Must be able to pass random drug screenings

Salary is based upon experience.
