Duration : 12 month contract
Pay Range : $39-$60 / hour on W2 without benefits
Job Description :
The IT Infrastructure group at National Instruments is currently seeking an IT Network Specialist at our site in Austin, Texas US.
Job Responsibilities :
Monitor global network equipment availability and health.
Troubleshoot and drive to a resolution a wide range of LAN and WAN outages and performance problems.
Maintain network equipment configurations with SW updates and HW refreshes.
Execute deployments of new network infrastructure, configuration changes, according to defined project specifications.
Interface with equipment vendors and service providers and manage service request escalations.
Communicate and collaborate with a global community of end users and team members.
Create and maintain network documentation
Experience Required :
Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in Layer 2 and 3 network protocols.
Fortinet OS knowledge is required, Juniper OS knowledge is a plus.
Knowledge in monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Forti-analyzer.
Experience operating wireless infrastructure based on Cisco and Juniper solutions is highly desirable.
Experience and knowledge of network phisical infrastructure including but not limited to : network ethernet and fiber optics cables, connectors, transceivers, patch panels, switches and routers phisical ports / power supplies / modules, patch cords, wall plates etc.
Excellent written, verbal, customer service, and documentation skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work and think independently with minimal supervision.
Cisco CCNA or CCNP a plus.
Full time on site at least 3 days a week, more if required.
Be able to work after shift hours and weekends occasionally.
