Role Title : Production Technician
Location : Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, CA 94080
Schedule : M-F Onsite (Operational hours will be similar to 9-5 working hours, with some flexibility for adjustments)
JOB DESCRIPTION : Project Overview :
Production Operations involves supporting mosquito production processes, operating automated hardware, performing manual rearing protocols, carrying out cleaning and maintenance tasks, and following production and safety protocols. Responsibilities include completing checklists, identifying production issues, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, managing waste treatment and sterilization processes, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. The role also includes performing general job-related duties as assigned and providing feedback on protocols and issues.
Overall Responsibilities :
Support mosquito production operations including but not limited to egg production,larval rearing, sex sorting workflows, and packing workflows.
Operate automated mosquito rearing and sex sorting hardware and systems.
Perform manual and semi-manual mosquito rearing protocols.
Carry out routine cleaning and processing of hardware, preparation work and maintenance of production equipment and tools
Follow production and safety protocols.
Follow, complete, and submit all assigned production checklists
Flag production issues and provide feedback on protocols.
Perform 5S and good housekeeping in the mosquito production facility to ensure a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
Maintain the cleanliness of common areas in a mosquito production facility i.e routine cleaning, ad hoc clearing of spills, clutter, perform emergency wipe down, etc.
Manage treatment and flow of waste produced on site including operating an autoclave. Clean production equipment and work stations.
Support periodic decontamination and sterilization processes.
Maintain cleaning equipment and consumables supply including managing storage and inventory and refilling supplies.
Maintain logs / records of completed cleaning tasks.
Ensure adherence to basic safety protocols such as preventing slips, trips and falls, prevent falling objects, eliminate fire hazards
Exercise due diligence to maintain mosquito containment and proactively kill uncontained mosquitoes
Performs ad-hoc miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Flag general issues and provide feedback.
Required Skills :
Applications from candidates with experience in catering and service work are encouraged.
Experience in automation, operations, production, or related field is optional but preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team in a fast-paced environment with changing demands.
Physically fit to perform manual work. Able to carry out repetitive job activities over a period of time.
Strong communications skills.
Ability to drive a vehicle (optional but preferred).
