Job Title : Production Supervisor
Location : Charlottesville, VA 22911
Job type : 9 Months Contract
General Accountabilities :
- The Production Supervisor responsibility includes ensuring that production processes deliver products on time to customer needs with maximum quality, in a profitable manner.
- The ideal candidate should exhibit the ability to comprehend complex operations and has experience in problem solving and optimizing of employee job performance with use of key metrics and Lean manufacturing principles.
Specific Duties, Activities and Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To :
Provide daily direction to hourly team in execution of production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results;
establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Implement process improvements that focus on achieving Sales / Inventory / Service / Quality / EHS improvement metrics
- Support, encourage and facilitate Lean Manufacturing principles and 5S
- Interact constructively with other departments.
- Assisting with other administrative tasks, when required.
- Support all company workplace policies, including safety objectives, quality, attendance, and performance management
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications :
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience required
- Associate's degree from an accredited school in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related preferred
- Knowledge in manufacturing or engineering processes
- Experience with MS Office suite and ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Ability to hire, train and develop potential employees
- Availability to work occasional weekends and variable hours
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
- Ability to multi-task and can work with minimal supervision
- Ability to stand for long periods on solid surfaces
