We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Buyer to join a well regarded and very successful Aerospace Manufacturing company. The successful candidate will manage the sourcing, procurement, and inventory of aerospace components, including wire harnesses, PCB parts, and other critical materials. This role requires in-depth knowledge of aerospace industry standards, government compliance regulations (DAR / FAR), and supply chain management best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Procurement
Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers of aerospace components, including wire harnesses, PCB parts, and other specialized materials.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
Compliance Management
Ensure all procurement activities adhere to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Acquisition Regulations (DAR).
Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization
Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
Vendor Management
Conduct supplier audits to assess quality, capability, and adherence to aerospace standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with engineering, quality assurance, and program management teams to ensure all procured materials meet design and performance specifications.
Requirements
Ideally 3 years of procurement or buying experience in the aerospace industry.
Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required).
Deep understanding of FAR and DAR requirements and their application in procurement processes.
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar credential.
