Key Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, and implement Windows Server upgrades and migrations (physical and virtual environments).
- Conduct assessments of existing server environments to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Develop and document project plans, timelines, and resource requirements for server-related initiatives.
- Execute server migrations, including data migration, application compatibility checks, and validation testing.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and tailor solutions to support their objectives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex server and network-related issues during and after migrations.
- Implement and enforce security best practices during server upgrades and migrations.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including migration plans, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide post-migration support and ensure all systems are fully operational and optimized.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience with Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022) upgrades and migrations.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related services.
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure or AWS) and hybrid server setups.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for server environments.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting server performance and network connectivity issues.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Microsoft Certified (Windows Server certification or equivalent).
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions for Windows Server environments.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or GDPR.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent experience and certifications may be considered.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in server administration, upgrades, and migrations.
