- Position Overview
- Artemis Research is seeking a dedicated and organized Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving products, outbound preparation, outbound shipments, storing products, various administrative duties, and maintaining a clean workspace and warehouse. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility.
- Responsibilities
- Receiving products:
- Receiving incoming shipments and matching them to expected inbound orders
- Documenting (photos, weights, measures, etc.) products contained within the orders and organizing that documentation using Google Sheets and Google Drive
- Outbound preparation:
- Prepping tools to be used to take samples from the incoming products (cleaning implements, cleaning workstation, etc.)
- Taking samples from incoming products (cutting strips or pieces of products, weighing them, bagging them and tagging them with codes) organizing those samples for outbound shipments
- Outbound shipments:
- Packing samples into envelopes and boxes for outbound shipments
- Generating, printing and organizing shipping labels and documentation
- Collaborating with carriers to schedule pickups and ensure timely delivery of shipments
- Storing products:
- Properly organizing and storing products and samples
- Maintaining accurate inventory records using electronic systems and some manual tracking
- Assist in generating inventory reports for management
- Administrative duties:
- Perform various administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and report generation
- Assist in the preparation of shipping and receiving documents and other paperwork
- Collaborating with colleagues to optimize operational processes and suggest improvements
- Warehouse Cleanliness:
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of clutter to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Regularly inspect the warehouse for any potential hazards or safety concerns and address them promptly.
- Physical Demands
- Stand and walk or sit alternatively depending on specific needs of day. Estimate 90% of time is spent on feet and 10% sitting at desk
- Have constant need to perform the following physical activities: bending/stooping/squatting, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting and reaching above shoulders
- Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities
- Consistent need to perform the following physical activities: writing/typing, grasping/turning, finger dexterity
- Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. frequently and over 50 lbs. occasionally
- Vision requirements: consistent need to complete forms, view computer screen. Frequent need to see small detail. Frequent need to see things clearly beyond arm's reach
- Hearing requirements: consistent need to communicate over telephone and in person
- Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework or certifications in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Fluency in English is required, with excellent communication skills, including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to accurately manage inventory and documentation.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and carriers
- Proficiency in using computer systems, including inventory software, Google Suite, Microsoft Office suite, and shipping platforms.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to pass a background test and drug screen.
