Looking for a Full-Time cook. No late nights! STARTING RATE IS $20.50-$24.00; experience is considered for higher wage. Essential Duties: • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules. • Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared food items. • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service. Responsible for records from area worked during service periods. • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures. • Stores, labels and dates food items according to policy. Helps maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products. • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed. • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required. • Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required. • Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately. • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers. • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. • Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements/Responsibilities
Qualifications:
1.
Must pass a California criminal background clearance.
2. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
3. Possess at least a high school education or GED, and at least six months of prior experience is preferred.
4. Must be willing to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions, temporarily, when necessary.
5. Must be physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
• Must pass a health screening test performed by a licensed physician, including a chest X-ray or intradermal test for TB.
• Must be able to hear, talk, and have a clear vision with or without corrective lenses.
• Must be capable of prolonged standing and walking continuously for the entire shift, frequent stooping and bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Must have sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher and manipulate kitchen equipment, including slicer, chopper, processor, knives, etc.
• Must be able to work in wet and/or humid conditions, subject to extreme cold and heat, substances, chemicals, and burns from equipment requiring precautions.
6. Must possess the ability to get along well with others and work as a team member, demonstrating flexibility and patience.
7. Must be able to work independently and possess problem-solving skills.
8. Must have good personal hygiene to comply with Department of Health practices and regulations.
9. Must possess a Food Handler Certificate.
