Job Summary
The Artesian Alliance Finance Manager performs essential accounting functions according to established procedures while providing support necessary to process the obligations of the member organizations. The position is responsible for all administrative and logistical tasks related to daily financial operations including deposits, accounts payable and receivable, statement reconciliations, payroll entries, purchasing, and required financial reports.
The Finance Manager works with Artesian Alliance departments and develops close working relationships with departmental leadership and staff. The Manager must be a proactive team player, a superb communicator; organized, adaptable to changing situations and settings, and able to meet deadlines and organizational objectives.
Essential Responsibilities
· Balance and post revenues to the general ledger daily and prepare timely deposits of earned and contributed revenue.
· Responsible for cash handling operations.
· Responsible for reviewing and reconciling credit card transactions and vendor statements.
· Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
· Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
· Prepare monthly state & local sales tax & lodging fee returns.
· Assist with compiling data for 1099 reporting, E-Verify and vendor reporting.
· Assist with budget process.
· Assist with audit and tax return preparations.
· Provide monthly and periodic financial reports.
· Act as backup for bi-weekly payroll, process payroll reports and employee reimbursements.
· Support and manage special projects and other initiatives as required.
· Manage purchasing functions including estimates, pricing, bids, purchase orders and contracts.
· Provide AZA accreditation support.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Abilities
- High school diploma and Associate of Accounting degree or related field, or five years progressive experience in accounting or business field, or appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of standard office procedures and familiarity with computer and audio/visual equipment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft products.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in QuickBooks accounting platform.
- Knowledge of point-of-sale and inventory systems.
- Ability to learn and train others on cloud-based applications.
- Ability to research and analyze data and provide recommendations.
- Ability to analyze a variety of business issues and select proper corrective action.
- Skilled in organization, team collaboration, attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and multitasking.
- Ability to interact courteously and respectfully with supervisors, fellow employees, volunteers, venue visitors, and general public.
Position Requirements
- Must maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have the ability to travel between properties and out of town when needed.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public.
- Arrive at work locations on time and maintain a positive attendance record.
- Properly administer sensitive business, employee, and other information.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
· Ability to work in an open office environment.
· Ability to work in an outdoor environment periodically.
· Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
