JOB TITLE: Medical Receptionist
LOCATION: Rockville, MD (**Please note this position will start in our Olney, MD office then will transfer to Rockville when our new location opens**)
HOURS: 4 DAY WORK WEEK - Monday - Thursday (Full-Time)
PAY: $21/hr

Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates (ARA) has an exciting opportunity available for a Medical Receptionist. The medical receptionist is for our Olney office assisting patients with the check in process, the patient portal, and medical records.
ARA has been in business for over 30 years servicing patients throughout the Metropolitan area, with dedication to the treatment and diagnosis of persons with disorders of the joints, muscles, tendons, and other connective tissue. With practices in Wheaton, Rockville, Chevy Chase, Olney, Frederick, and Washington, DC, we pride ourselves by providing excellent medical care with high quality customer service.
The qualified candidate must be neat, professional, organized, enthusiastic and have a pleasant phone manner.
Main duties include:
- Answers telephone, screens calls. takes messages and provides information in a timely fashion to back up the call center.
- Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
- Checks in patients, verifies and updates necessary information in medical record in NextGen and via Phreesia registration system as well as collection the appropriate documentation.
- Collects patient co-payments and balances as necessary
- Notifies physician of critical value lab results as directed by lab tech
- Daily review the Patient Portal Report and updated enrollments as necessary.
- Maintains the appointment schedule and follows scheduling policies.
- Maintains the patient re-call system
- Follows-up on no-show patient appointments.
- Enters new patient demographics into the computer system.
- Performs Patient Portal enrollments.
Education:
- High school diploma is a must
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Qualifications:
- One year of experience as a medical receptionist
