Description
Primary Purpose: The Quality Assurance Document Control Supervisor assists in ensuring food safety and quality standards are met by being the lead point of contact for all quality assurance and food safety documents. Reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Responsibilities:
Quality Programs and Compliance
- Primarily responsible for the management and organization of the SQF program documents, keeping all documents and binders up to date and audit ready.
- Maintains all ID preserved programs, including but not limited to, Organic, Kosher, Halal, NGMO.
- Performs product and material traces to ensure accuracy of data and inventory management systems; performs mock trace exercises as required.
- Maintains and sends reports to support leadership reviews of KPI’s as needed.
Audit Support
- Support, lead companywide facility quality audits and inspections.
Additional Duties
- Engage employees in Good Manufacturing Practices, programs and policies to educate and improve compliance.
- All other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Lead in the resolution of consumer complaints
Qualifications
Education, Qualities and Skills Required:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in science or similar degree or food manufacturing experience preferred
- At least 2 years in a related quality field or 5 years in food manufacturing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently
- Effective collaboration and influence skills
- HACCP Certified.
- SQF Practitioner.
- PCQI Qualified Individual.
- Able to influence without direct authority
- Strong data analysis skills
- Flexible and adaptable to different situations
- Able to balance QA standards with production demands and to reach compromise as appropriate
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) preferred
- Attention to detail; thorough and accurate in work
Preferred:
- Dairy Industry experience.
- Experience in management.
- Research & Development experience.
Supervisory Responsibility:
No direct reports. Assist in supervising the Quality Department.
Work Environment:
Typical office working environment which includes a workstation equipped with a computer and other office supplies necessary for daily tasks. Typically climate-controlled to provide a comfortable working temperature year-round. Lighting is usually a mix of natural and artificial sources to ensure sufficient lamination. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to work with tree nuts, milk and eggs. The employee must also be able to work inside a freezer or cooler and in cheese processing environment temperatures (32 – 52 degrees F).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time salaried position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday. Expectations of 45-50 hours per week, to be worked during normal business hours.

Compensation and Benefits:
The budgeted salary range for this position is $75,000-$95,000, with a 10% annual bonus potential.

Salary range is based on consideration of required qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certifications or seniority, etc. Schuman Cheese reserves the right to offer the selected candidate or applicant an hourly rate or salary at an appropriate level to be set and determined by Schuman Cheese that is commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certifications or seniority.
