HVAC Technician - Commercial
We are looking for a new team member, an experienced commercial HVAC Technician to join our growing staff. The individual in this role will be installing, inspecting, repairing and maintaining our customers’ heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Candidates need commercial experience handling, installing, troubleshooting, operating and repairing commercial HVAC systems. This candidate needs to have experience in customer service, be customer focused, have mechanical abilities and be able to communicate with the office, update service/dispatching software and take care of paperwork. Comfortable working with little to no supervision, we do not micro-manage from the office.
Commercial HVAC Service Technician / Duties and Responsibilities
- Travel to multiple businesses on a daily basis as scheduled
- Meet and perform consultations with customers
- Determine customer needs and discuss solution methods with the office
- Install/start up new heating, cooling, and ventilation commercial systems
- Inspect HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety
- Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to increase longevity and maintain operation
- Conduct performance tests with specialized tools
- Troubleshoot current HVAC system issues
- Repair damaged commercial HVAC systems
- Assist construction team as needed, conduct checkout, start-up and place HVAC system into operation
- Use software and technology, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units or systems.
- Provide all information from each service call and document work by accurately completing paperwork/software.
- Team effort and dedication by maintaining flexibility to work overtime, on-call rotation and weekends as the business requires.
- Adhere to current safety work standards
Commercial HVAC Service Technician / Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 - 4 years apprenticeship experience and 4 - 10 years field commercial work experience
- Certification through the EPA to handle refrigerants required
- Certifications/license, trade school and/or associate degree from an HVAC program at a technical school required
- Previous on the job training a plus (Liebert, Stultz, Trane, Carrier, Dakin)
- Strong mechanical abilities, repair and troubleshooting skills
- Strong verbal communication skills, ability to explain complex HVAC issues with customers in a way they understand
- Critical-thinker, problem-solver
- Willing to work the extra mile, put in 110% effort when needed… all the while maintaining a high quality of work standard
- Able to manage one-self with minimal supervision
- Must hold valid state driver’s license and have clean driving record
- Must pass pre-hire drug screen and background check
- Must be punctual and adhere to a daily changing schedule with multiple appointments in different locations

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
