What are the responsibilities and job description for the Studio Assistant position at Articulture Designs?
Articulture Designs, a high-end plantscape (interior and exterior) design firm is seeking a reliable individual with a diverse set of experiences. This full-time position will be focused on production and installation of plantscapes, plant walls, event décor, and more.
ABOUT YOU
To be qualified for the Studio Assistant position you must be a dependable, hardworking, and maintain a positive attitude. We are close-knit team, and team chemistry is just as important as job skill. Also, as a botanical design firm, it really helps if you’re a “plant person!”
Some specific qualifications include (but are not limited to):
- Past experience in a fabrication, workshop, or art studio environment
- Professional or personal experience caring for living plants
- Have own reliable transportation
- Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds independently
- Able to climb ladders and work on ladders
- Experience using drills, saws, and other power tools, as well as pruners, scissors, and other sharp objects
- You must be detail-oriented; we don’t do good work, we do great work
ABOUT THE JOB
Regular job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Studio fabrication work with materials such as wood, steel, metal, and plant material
- Measuring twice, cutting once!
- Taking off-site field measurements
- Installing custom pieces into drywall, wood, concrete, steel, etc.
- Safely loading and unloading heavy material and equipment
- Planting vessels with a wide variety of plants and accoutrements according to lead designer’s specifications
- Assisting team in care and maintenance of plants and plantscapes
In order to perform this job safely, it requires good vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, communication, and critical thinking skills. The ability to safely load and unload heavy equipment is also necessary.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
