Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our aerospace manufacturing team in Wichita, KS. In this role, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and collaborating across teams to support production of aircraft components. You will lead the creation, revision, and optimization of work instructions, tooling, and production flow using advanced tools like SAP and CATIA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and rewrite manufacturing planning work instructions to include detailed installation processes, procedures, quality inspections, and customer specifications.
- Interpret and apply customer specifications accurately to ensure compliance with engineering and production standards.
- Update Bills of Materials (BOM) in line with current engineering and manufacturing requirements.
- Perform ROS Conversions: create and revise Material Masters, Engineer Change Masters, and use various SAP T-Codes for material management.
- Analyze engineering drawings, CATIA models, OEM parts lists, and standard specifications to ensure accurate SAP Long Text documentation.
- Create and review Graphic Work Instructions (GWIs) and define assembly methods to enhance production efficiency.
- Define routing sequences, develop manufacturing datasets, tooling requirements, and Bills of Materials following the established manufacturing planning flow.
- Collaborate with engineering, tooling, production, and quality teams to ensure on-time and accurate completion of aircraft components.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry as a manufacturing engineer.
- Comprehensive knowledge of aero-structures manufacturing processes and standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and best practices.
- Experience working with SAP for manufacturing planning and material management.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 (2D and 3D modeling).
- Strong blueprint reading skills, especially 2D technical drawings.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
