What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front of House Supervisor position at ARTIS-NAPLES, INC?
This position is SEASONAL, September through May.
The Front of House Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the supervision of usher team members providing services to Artis—Naples during events. The work schedule requires days, evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate the needs of patrons attending scheduled events. The Front of House Supervisor will work cooperatively and efficiently with all Artis–Naples team members. This role will be responsible for a variety of events and performances throughout the cultural campus. This is a seasonal position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
- Assist with the coordination and provide relevant training of usher team members to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Supervise usher team members assigned to all events both on and off campus.
- Supervise volunteers assigned during shift hours.
- Prepare all necessary reports for distribution in a timely manner.
- Ensure prompt curtains and enforce late-seating policy working directly with the production team.
- Provide usher team members with all relevant information pertaining to their assignment; conduct pre-show briefings including show timings & late seating.
- Work with Collier County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol when on campus.
- Monitor, respond and assist patrons for issues requiring medical attention. Assist with Crowd Control if an emergency evacuation is necessary.
- Assist patron services in resolving seating issues at performances. Resolve issues as they arise.
- Organize program distribution, including but not limited to the placement of program inserts.
- Ensure usher team members are in proper uniform according to the uniform policy.
- Will act in the role of usher for events as needed.
- Coordinate the merchandise and souvenir sales. Prepare accurate and timely reports for House Manager approval.
- Assist in reporting facility and operational problems and work effectively with all Artis—Naples team members to address issues requiring the attention of each department.
- Assist with reviewing documents, memos & training guides for the department as needed.
- Maintain certification and/or training in CPR/AED, First Aid, Evacutrac Emergency Chair, Active Shooter and Fire Extinguisher.
- Attend meetings as required or directed.
- Observe safety requirements. Report safety issues and items requiring work orders to Manager or Security.
- Collaborate effectively with all Artis—Naples team members.
- Enforce adherence to Artis—Naples policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, Competencies and Core Values
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrated commitment to best-in-class guest service.
- Minimum one year experience in high volume performing arts, theater, attraction, museum, zoo or aquarium venue.
- Experience with ticketing, guest arrival, facility operations preferred.
- Experience speaking in front of large groups of patrons and team members.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
