Responsibilities
The candidate can expect to:
- Assist with daily oversight of and interactions with external service providers, including pricing vendors, fund administrators and custodians
- Oversight of net asset value calculations and other information prepared by external fund administrators, fund accountants and custodians
- Perform daily and periodic valuation related tasks, including research and validation of security prices, resolution of pricing exceptions, liquidity reviews and fair value leveling
- Review various financial and regulatory reports, including review of financial information to supporting ledgers and analytical review of information contained in the reports
- Expense management, including periodic review of expense budgets and expense payments
- Resolve inquiries from external auditors during the annual audit processes, and assist in coordination between external auditors and administrator
- Assist with regulatory research and initiatives, workflow documentation and advancement of team processes
- Interact with a diverse set of teams across the firm including exposure to senior management
- Preparation of quarterly board materials
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance with demonstrated academic achievement
- At least 7 years’ of experience within the financial services industry required (including experience specific to derivative investments), previous public accounting experience welcome
- Previous knowledge in accounting and valuation of various instrument types and currencies including high yield debt (corporate bonds, sovereign bonds and bank loans) with an emphasis on derivatives (including credit default swaps, interest rate swaps, options, futures and forwards) is required
- Experience with model valuations preferred
- Proactive approach to work with a demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, and work independently
- Strong work ethic, sense of ownership of assigned responsibilities and an ability to lead
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
