Job summary: We are looking for a energetic, courteous, and professional banquet server to join our growing team at our newly renovated property. You will be responsible for greeting, assisting, and serving guests at special functions and events. The banquet server will assist with setting up, room preparation, clean up, serving guests, and respond to guest questions, complaints, and requests. The Banquet Server is responsible for the set-up and serving of food and beverages to guests at all banquet functions, according to the hotel standards. To be a successful banquet server, you should possess excellent customer service and communication skills. You should be professional, polite to guests, and an efficient server.
Reports to: Banquet Manager
Job Duties:
- Greeting guests as they enter the venue and helping them to find their seats.
- Serving guests our F&B offering in accordance with our style and steps of service.
- Circulating the room with trays of appetizers and beverages.
- Directing guests to necessary services and features.
- Assisting with event preparation, set up, and closing, including setting up and packing away tables, table cloths and place settings, and buffets.
- Supporting other staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Attend pre-event meetings to be informed of schedule and menu.
- Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver prior to use.
- Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
- Know how to read the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and be familiar with the menu of the assigned function.
- Maintain banquet storage spaces in a neat and orderly manner.
Requirements:
- Balance and carry trays, plates, and tubs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
- Available to work on-call, weekday, weekends, and holidays.
