Our Client is seeking an Agency Technical Director to oversee technology operations, infrastructure, and vendor relationships for a fast-paced digital agency. This role will be responsible for managing IT systems, ensuring website security, optimizing technology costs, and aligning technology solutions with business goals. If you're looking for a purely strategic role without rolling up your sleeves, this might not be the right fit.
You Will:
- Oversee the agency’s technology environment, including hardware, software, cloud infrastructure, and web hosting platforms
- Manage and maintain AWS environments, including server configurations, security settings, and performance monitoring
- Serve as the primary liaison with technology and IT vendors, negotiating contracts, ensuring service quality, and identifying opportunities for cost savings
- Ensure agency websites and digital properties are secure, including regular security audits, updates, and risk mitigation
- Manage technology licenses and subscriptions, ensuring compliance and identifying efficiencies to reduce costs
- Support internal teams with IT needs, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
- Evaluate new technologies and tools to support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement technology policies, processes, and best practices
- Manage backups, disaster recovery plans, and data protection strategies to safeguard agency and client assets
- Monitor and improve agency workflows by identifying automation opportunities and implementing process improvements
- Oversee internal and external access to digital tools, ensuring appropriate permissions and access controls are maintained
- Advise leadership on technology trends, risks, and opportunities to ensure the agency remains innovative and competitive
You Have:
- 5 years of experience managing IT and technology operations, preferably within an agency or small business environment
- Strong knowledge of AWS, including EC2, S3, RDS, and related cloud technologies
- Experience managing website hosting, DNS, SSL certificates, and web security tools
- Familiarity with managing vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts and optimizing technology spend
- Proven ability to develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices
- Experience with both Mac and PC environments, including basic troubleshooting and network support
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills to identify technology cost savings and efficiency improvements
- Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems in a fast-paced, creative environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred or equivalent experience
