What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mason for Land Construction position at Artistic Grounds?
Landscape Mason
Artistic Grounds is seeking an experienced Stone Mason to join our construction team. Our ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with all facets of full stone and veneer stone installation as well as all flat work. Chimney installation experience and pool coping experience is a plus. Ultimately, you will be working on our uniquely designed stone projects with other professionals to deliver high-quality work based on the needs of our clients. Highly competitive hourly rate offered for experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Mix and prepare cement, bricks and mortar for structures
Cut and shape materials until they meet the client’s specifications
Assist in the creation of chimneys, walls, frames, walkways, and other structures
Interpret technical drawings and follow their instructions
Do your part to maintain out tools and workspaces
Lift and carry bricks, concrete blocks, and stones from place to place
Plan and organize the daily workload, coordinating necessary resources and materials to meet timelines.
Have a full understanding of the proper equipment and stone cutting tools used to safely perform the work.
Be able to read and implement landscape plans and construction diagrams.
Train apprentices as needed to grow our team and pass along the trade
Assist in estimating of job costs and site preparation
Actively problem solve and participate in project solving issues
Requirements
Completion of a mason apprenticeship or previous experience in a similar role is preferred
Have experience working with other contractors and subs on a construction site
Physical ability to perform manual labor for most of the day
Familiarity with commonly-used mason techniques, tools and materials
Ability to work well both individually and as part of a team
Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record (required)
DOT certificate (required)
Ability to pass drug test

This job is physically demanding. It requires lifting heavy objects, standing, kneeling or bending for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.

$24-$45 per hour based on experience
