This vital role will center on addressing systemic challenges and providing direct, trauma-informed support to youth from marginalized communities. Through leadership, collaboration, and tailored programming, you’ll help participants overcome barriers, build critical skills, and access opportunities that pave the way for lifelong success.

Working in our trauma-informed center, the Youth Empowerment Manager will oversee program operations, support staff and participants, and develop impactful strategies to meet the diverse needs of those we serve. Join us in our mission to create positive change and help young people thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead the implementation of the Pathways to College or Careers program, ensuring all activities align with trauma-informed best practices.
  • Build trusting relationships with youth participants to understand their individual needs, challenges, and goals.
  • Provide direct supervision and support to Pathways program staff, ensuring they are equipped to deliver quality, participant-centered services.
  • Coordinate one-on-one coaching and case management for participants to address personal, educational, and employment barriers.
  • Design and facilitate skill-building workshops focused on leadership, life skills, and career readiness, tailored to the unique needs of at-risk youth.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with external organizations to connect participants with additional resources, such as mental health services, educational & employment opportunities, and job training.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, adjusting strategies to ensure participants meet program goals and receive effective support.
  • Lead the creation of a welcoming and inclusive program environment where participants feel supported and valued.
  • Prepare detailed records and program reports, providing updates to leadership and stakeholders on program progress and performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Youth Development, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing or coordinating programs that serve youth, particularly those from at-risk or marginalized communities.
  • Proven experience working in trauma-informed care environments and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by at-risk youth.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and guide both staff and participants.
  • Knowledge of case management practices and experience addressing social, emotional, or systemic employment barriers.
  • Comfortable facilitating engaging and interactive workshops or training sessions.
  • Familiarity with community resources and support networks, including education, job training, and workforce development.
  • Proven ability to support and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating strong cultural competency.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in English and an additional commonly spoken language.
  • Certification or training in youth mentoring, workforce development, or trauma-informed care.

This full-time position offers an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of youth who face significant challenges yet hold immense potential. If you are passionate about fostering growth and empowering young individuals, we invite you to be part of our impactful program.
