Job Title: Provider Administrative Assistant I
Location: Saint Paul, MN 55101
We are seeking a dedicated Provider Administrative Assistant I to offer administrative and clerical support to healthcare providers, including Associate Medical Directors (AMDs) and Chief of Staff. This role may also assist Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), genetic counselors, and contract providers as directed.
The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service while managing scheduling, handling calls, preparing and maintaining documentation, and coordinating provider schedules and professional responsibilities. This role requires working in a collaborative, highly coordinated healthcare environment to support providers serving patients with complex conditions. Strong teamwork, effective communication, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide administrative support to providers, ensuring efficient scheduling and communication.
- Handle calls, maintain documentation, and manage provider calendars.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain confidentiality while organizing workload and setting priorities.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other software to support provider activities.
- Strong grammar, punctuation, and proofreading abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with various work styles.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Initiative to anticipate needs and problem-solve independently.
- Experience with office equipment such as multi-line phones, copy machines, and fax machines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and data sorting within EMR systems.
Required:
- Prior office experience or completion of a secretarial/administrative program.
- Basic medical terminology knowledge.
- Computer skills:
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Experience with internet/intranet and email, preferably Microsoft Outlook.
- Typing speed of at least 45 WPM.
Preferred:
- Administrative or Microsoft certification.
- Previous experience in a similar department.
- Experience with software such as Cerner, eDOCS, Surgery Scheduling, HSM Production, Amion, or Relay Health.
