Job Overview
NorthBay Health seeks experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide safe, effective, and high-quality patient care in alignment with our mission, vision, and values. Utilizing Jean Watson's Theory of Caring and Relationship-Based Care, the RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and fostering therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centered care based on the interdisciplinary care plan and tailored to the physiological, developmental, and psychosocial needs of each patient.
- Assess patient conditions, formulate nursing diagnoses, and develop comprehensive care plans in collaboration with patients and families.
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to ensure safety, comfort, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Evaluate and modify care plans based on patient responses, progress, and team feedback.
- Maintain and demonstrate proficiency in medical equipment, instrumentation, and medication administration.
- Delegate and supervise tasks to care team members within their legal scope of practice.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring culturally competent, age-appropriate, and ethical care.
- Serve as a liaison, coordinating care with physicians, allied health professionals, and ancillary staff.
- Document nursing care accurately and comply with hospital policies.
- Contribute to patient satisfaction by addressing complaints, resolving concerns promptly, and maintaining positive interactions with patients and families.
