Telix Optimal Tracers is seeking a Scientist I, Radiochemistry to manufacture clinical-stage radiopharmaceuticals and test methods and processes for novel radiolabeled compounds. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the team to ensure operational and quality standards while maintaining the reliable supply of PET radiopharmaceuticals for clinical and pre-clinical research and radiopharmaceutical development. The successful candidate will write and execute protocols in compliance with the requirements outlined in 21 CFR Part 212 and USP . Ideal candidates will have GMP manufacturing expertise and thrive in fast-paced environments. This is an on-site role in Sacramento, California.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct radiopharmaceutical synthesis and quality control testing, including validations, method transfers, and troubleshooting.
  • Complete documentation, including batch records, shipping documents, inventory management, and reports, in accordance with cGMP standards and the facility’s Quality Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety procedures, including handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for radiochemistry tech transfer and manufacturing qualification of newly developed radiotracers for clinical use.
  • Contribute to protocol development for Telix’s global radiopharmaceutical assets.
  • Ensure contracted service standards are met and resolve issues in a timely, professional manner.
  • Support other tasks and projects as assigned by management.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cGMP radiopharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Experience with PET diagnostic tracers (11C, 18F, 68Ga) is required.
  • Experience with radiometal chemistry (89Zr, 177Lu, 64Cu, etc) is preferred.
  • Training as an Authorized User for radioactive materials preferred.
  • Experience in radiopharmaceutical production, QC, and laboratory operations.
  • Familiarity with current GMP/GLP and regulatory requirements.
