Overview:
A leading global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Business Development Manager to join its growing team. This position will focus on identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities in the small molecule sector, with a focus on pharmaceutical and biotech clients. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the drug development process, especially related to small molecules, and a proven track record of building long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and engage potential pharmaceutical and biotech partners in need of small molecule development and manufacturing services.
- Develop and execute regional or global sales strategies to drive revenue growth and expand market presence.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from initial contact and needs assessment to proposal development, contract negotiation, and deal closure.
- Collaborate closely with internal technical, project management, and marketing teams to ensure alignment of service capabilities with client needs.
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs within the small molecule CDMO space.
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to generate leads and promote the company's capabilities.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline using CRM tools and provide regular forecasting and business updates to leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 3 years of experience in business development or sales within the CDMO, CRO, or pharmaceutical industry, specifically in small molecules.
- Strong knowledge of the drug development lifecycle, including preclinical, clinical, and commercial manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability to close complex deals and exceed revenue targets.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
