ArtRage Gallery is searching for a Co-Director to creatively share all the responsibilities for running the gallery with the current staff person.
Shared responsibilities include:
Curatorial: Research artists for exhibitions, organize all exhibition-related activities (logistics, design, publication and installation).
Programming: Develop exhibit related programs; cultivate community partnerships for collaborations; coordinate community events & tours.
Fiscal and Fundraising: Create annual budget; manage budget and payables/receivables, organize fundraising events & campaigns, grant writing, research and reporting.
Public Relations:Develop radio/print/digital advertising, press releases, interviews with media, marketing material; Website and social media content management, manage Listserv and announcements; Graphic design and strong technical literacy.
General Operations: Prepare for and attend BOD and committee meetings, attend local community and arts-related events, support building maintenance, oversee interns, volunteers.
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Museum Studies, or a related field. Museum, gallery, or related professional experience preferred.
Social activism, social justice issues and/or community organizing experience.
Strong leadership and job collaboration skills.
Working Conditions: The majority of work is performed in an office environment, however, some physical labor is expected for event set ups and hanging/taking down artwork.
Ability to work gallery hours (2-6pm Wednesday to Friday) and flexibility to work hours that include evenings and weekends for special events/meetings. Some local and regional travel may be required.
Employment Status: Approximately 30 hours per week, 12 months per year; no relocation assistance.
Benefits Offered: $40,000.00 salary per year, Medical Insurance, Paid vacation and holidays.
