Theatre/Event Manager
The Epic Center is hiring a brand new position to oversee the theatre and building events that take place throughout the year. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and project management skills, and technical theatre experience. This position works an average of 30 hours a week including nights and weekends. This is an hourly, full-time position that pays $25 an hour.
Position Overview:
Under the direct supervision of the Epic Director, this position is responsible for overseeing all event schedules, maintenance, staffing, and usage of the theatre. It also serves as the point person for events within the building spaces to ensure proper scheduling, maintenance, and usage. Serves as the point person for rentals, load-ins, set-ups, and load-outs, and maintains the master schedules of all spaces, giving priority to the building tenants. This position is an hourly, full-time position that works at least 30 hours a week, including nights and weekends.
Major Tasks Performed (Essential Job Functions)
Theatre/Event Management
- Schedules all areas, and equipment need for all areas.
- Attends to general building maintenance needs as necessary – i.e. refill supplies between custodial visits, replace lightbulbs, empty trash, etc.
- Serves as point person for building rentals – assessing needs, executing contracts, and hiring staff as necessary.
- Is present and leads all rentals – serving as the crew supervisor for lighting and sound, crew needs.
- Serves as liaison between director, contracted staff, and renters.
- Maintains theatrical and building equipment in proper working order. Maintains inventories of all such equipment.
- Assists in identifying capital purchases and upgrades necessary to maintain the building.
- Provide written reports about building usage to the Director and other staff as necessary for funding and other purposes.
- Take an active role in the community activities and events of building partners
- Assist in the budgeting process for the building.
