POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician is responsible for ensuring product quality through accurate testing, documentation, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Key responsibilities include training co-workers on quality protocols, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and managing product holds and inventory. The QA Technician performs special product tests, conducts audits to assess non-conformance, and issues necessary rework documentation. This role requires meticulous record-keeping, including data entry for QA reports and generating Certificates of Analysis and Compliance for customers. The QA Technician also operates, calibrates, and verifies the functionality of various dimensional measuring tools and testing instruments. Effective communication and multitasking skills are essential for collaborating with management, customer service, and shipping/receiving departments to maintain product quality and compliance with company and customer standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform the responsibilities of other positions as needed and directed by a member of the Leadership Team
- Assist the Q.A. Manager in the daily operations of the Q.A. Department.
- Manage the Hold Area’s Inventory and ensure the products On Hold are effectively and timely disposed of or put back into the system.
- Perform special tests required by customers for their specific products.
- Audit the Customer’s product to determine the extent of a non-conformance.
- Issue the required Rework Documents required as necessary.
- QA Department Data entry into spreadsheets and records for QA Reports.
- Document and issue C of A and C of C documents to customers as necessary.
- UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS:
- Pants or shorts, no rips
- Company provided shirt or sweatshirt
- Closed toed shoes
- Hairnet, Beard net if necessary
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous Experience/Education/Certification:
- Must be proficient and understand the job requirements of the position training
- The most previous evaluation must be a good or better
- Must not have any current disciplinary action above 4 points or at a Step 2
- Detailed Oriented.
- Good Math Skills.
- Familiar with Dimensional Measuring Tools.
- Must be able to deal with multiple tasks.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with Plant Management, Customer Service and Shipping/Receiving Depts., and customers.
- Must be familiar with the process controls in manufacturing.
- Must be experienced to select quality samples for the customer’s approval to ship their order.
- Must be able to use a computer for inputting Q.A. Department Reports and Records
Q.A. Technician should be able to use, calibrate, or check the functionality of the following instruments:
1. Ruler with 1/32” increments.
2. Micrometer.
3. Caliper.
4. Densitometer.
5. Torque Tester
6. Lift Force Tester.
7. Bar Code Scanner Verifier
8. Bar Code Computerized Verifier.
9. Microscope/Comparator for “X” axis measurements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Stand, bend, stoop, squat continuously while processing orders
- Reach above shoulder level frequently
- Understand and effectively follow procedures, policies, and safety practices
- Push/pull continuously
- Lifting requires up to 20 pounds continuously while processing orders
- Twist upper body continuously
- Repetitive hand movements grasping, turning, and firm manipulation
- Becoming familiar with moving machinery and safety practices
- Endurance, fast paced walking and standing for long hours (12 hours)
- Communicate effectively with other employees, Supervisors and Management
- Knowledgeable in the inspection processes
