General Purpose of the Position:
This position will provide clerical and training support to staff and drivers related to DOT safety requirements, including eLogs, HOS, and OSHA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review eLogs/HOS and respond to issues
- Assist drivers and staff with any safety related questions/topics
- Train staff and drivers on eLogs/HOS
- Receive and respond to safety hotline calls under direction of Safety Manager
- Safety presentation for new contractor and driver orientations
- Assist with drug and alcohol test program for contractors and employees
- Review and administration of contractor/driver application process for safety guidelines
- Update LUMA, Ten Street (DAC) with terminated drivers
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Work well under pressure, able to multi-task and organize.
- Advanced understanding of DOT regulations.
- Understanding of transportation guidelines
- Sense of urgency to complete time-sensitive assignments
- 2-4 years’ experience in the Transportation Industry is preferred
- Must have experience with HOS and eLogs
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to lift, move, and carry objects no more than 15 pounds on a regular basis.
