Position Information
The Program Director will act as the coordinator for ArtWalla’s projects and programs and support the organization’s strategic direction while managing short and long-term goals. The Program Director will work in collaboration with the board and committee members including the CoWalla Creative District to facilitate, initiate, and implement various arts projects, programs, and initiatives. They will serve as the primary administrator, organizing the schedule, progress, and deadlines for the volunteer board and committee members. In addition, the Program Director will provide administrative, and communications support aligned with ArtWalla’s mission and strategic direction. A strong passion for the arts and community as well as experience and knowledge of program development from concept to implementation are all necessary to achieve success within this position. Candidates should be comfortable taking on many roles and be able to self-manage their time.
This job is a part-time position, 25-30 hours per week and is classified as a non-exempt position. The schedule is flexible with some remote work allowed. The Program Director reports to the Executive Committee of the Board.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a commitment to the mission, vision, values, and standards of ArtWalla.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Board members in all aspects of art programs including but not limited to scheduling, communications, event planning, volunteer coordination, soliciting donations, and project management.
- Support the Board members with fundraising campaigns and researching, planning, and compiling grant applications.
- Manage the ArtWalla communications, responding to internal and external communications. This includes monthly newsletters, social media content, press releases, and serving as the member contact.
- Maintain the website, regularly updating the Arts Calendar and other dynamic website pages.
- Provide administrative support for the CoWalla Creative District.
- Provide support for ArtWalla Board meetings, executive committee meetings, program committee meetings and Creative District Advisory Committee meetings.
- Maintain ArtWalla’s membership and volunteer databases, with an emphasis on building donations and increasing membership.
Qualifications
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong written communication, interpersonal, and copy-editing skills.
- Experience navigating online grant portals and platforms used by the State of Washington, Foundation, and corporate grant providers.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google products.
- A strong understanding of Graphic Design and the tools used to support design.
- Website and database management experience
Hours & Salary
This is a part-time position for an average of 25-30 hours per week, wage based on experience, and will be between $20-$25/hour. Days and hours are flexible, and some remote work will be allowed.
- Accrued PTO up to 10 days per year.
- Professional Education and Development Support will be provided.
