Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for new product development, including but not limited to:
- Creation of Swiss CNC programs for new product
- Creation of manufacturing process for new product
- Creation of operation prints as required
- Coordinate with quality on inspection methods
- Participate in pre-production process to ensure all items are kitted and available at setup time
- Create and maintain setup sheets
- Create jobs and process documentation as required
- Partner with Management and Production on floor support
- Assist with quoting part rates
- Lead continuous improvement including, but not limited to:
- Identify, lead, and Coordinate "Kaizen" events
- Identify and lead "quick hit" improvements
- Research, procure, and develop new technology including, but not limited to:
- Tooling
- Work holding
- Equipment
- Participate in quality activities including, but not limited to:
- NCMR review
- Root cause analysis
- Material review board
- Mentor other engineers and machinists to improve their manufacturing and engineering skill sets
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in machining with a focus on CNC Swiss
- Contract manufacturing experience
- A minimum of 3 years CAM programming experience (Part Maker a plus)
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an engineering related function
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- CAM programming in GIBBS and/or Part Maker
- Strong Analytical skills and the ability to express concepts effectively, both written and verbally
- Strong communication & customer-service skills
- Knowledge of tooling, speeds and feeds and work methods is critical
- Ability to be open minded and work well with others and in a team environment
- Ability to setup and operate machine tools
- Ability to program machine tools
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and utilize GD&T proficiently
- Ability to work independently with minimal training or supervision
- Strong math skills
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- 3D CAD skills
