The opportunityDesign of Plumbing and Fire Protection systems within the built environment, with an emphasis on sustainable designSupport designing plumbing systems such as domestic water, sanitary / vent, and storm systems.Support designing fire protection systems fire sprinkler and standpipe systems.Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to develop integrated solutions for complex buildingsUndertaking and documenting engineering analysis work, including code research, load calculations, and equipment sizing, in a clear manner.Document system design in Revit MEPCommunicate technical ideas to a broad range of audiences using various formats, including presentations and workshopsWrite reports documenting calculation methods and results, design assumptions, and other technical informationThe ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our changing environmentInfluence with design on sustainable outcome for our clients to align with Arup sustainability commitment.Assisting in construction administration activities such as site visits and submittal reviews.Participating in local professional associationsThe skillsBachelors Degree in mechanical, architectural, civil, or environmental engineering.2 or more years of professional work experience in designing plumbing and fire protection systemsExperience with 3D BIM software such as Revit MEPShown interest in the built environment and sustainable developmentAbility to collaborate with clientsGood time management habits, ability to multi-task, ability to sustain focus on long tasksAbility to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible wayAttitude of taking initiative, enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, teamwork, creativityAbility to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our changing environmentStrong interpersonal and communication skills needed for team-based workingPresentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levelsCandidate must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future.PreferredFE desired, Ideal candidate will have or be working towards PEMembership in ASPE, ASSE, ASHRAE, NFPA, or SFPE.Courses in sustainability or USGBC participationShown ability to perform in a paid work environment with intermittent supervisionPast history of technical presentations and technical writingComputer programming languages (e.g., Dynamo, Python, Grasshopper)Please note that all applicants must apply directly via the job portal.
