Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CAD D*esigner with expertise in SolidWorks* for product design and drafting. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with Windchill for managing Change Requests (CR) and Change Notices (CN). This role involves creating detailed technical drawings, modifying designs, and ensuring product development meets engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
- Develop engineering drawings, layouts, and detailed part designs per industry standards.
- Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility.
- Manage and process Change Requests (CR) and Change Notices (CN) in Windchill PLM.
- Maintain design documentation and update engineering records in Windchill.
- Conduct design reviews and implement feedback to improve product quality.
- Support BOM (Bill of Materials) management and documentation control.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product design and manufacturability.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, CAD Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (modeling, drafting, assembly, sheet metal, etc.).
- Experience in Windchill PLM for Change Management (CR & CN processes).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and drafting standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience in design modifications and product lifecycle management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills (Plus Points):
- Experience with other CAD software (AutoCAD, Creo, etc.).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication).
- Knowledge of PDM/PLM systems beyond Windchill.
- Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
