What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Manager of Transportation (Data Center Services) position at Arvato?
This individual will play a pivotal role in developing, optimizing, and implementing transportation strategies, carrier management processes and solutions within the Data Center Services segment while driving cost efficiencies and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of transportation systems, carrier management, account management, supply chain management, and advanced modeling techniques.
YOUR TASKS
- Act as the primary point of contact for all transport management topics for key customers in Data Center Services vertical.
- Work closely with clients to understand their transportation and supply chain needs.
- Own the Transportation Management MBR cycle with our customers in the Data Center vertical.
- Support the setup of new transportation services in Data Center Services vertical
- Analyze transportation requirements and develop tailored solutions to address customer-specific challenges.
- Work with transportation department to design end-to-end multimodal transportation models, including wide ranging from LTL, FTL, high security loads, white glove services as well as international airfreight.
- Optimize network designs, route planning, and load consolidation to enhance efficiency.
- Build effective and efficient carrier management processes
- Leverage transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and other supply chain technologies to enhance solution design.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess carrier performance (e.g., on-time delivery, transit times, capacity utilization).
- Collaborate with carriers to secure adequate capacity for seasonal peaks, market fluctuations, and special projects.
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 6–9 years of experience in transportation management, carrier management, or a related logistics role.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills to build and maintain positive relationships with carriers.
- Knowledge of TMS/SAP pertaining to transportation and warehouse activities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage various priorities simultaneously.
