Position is located in Rogers, AR, but can be based anywhere in Northwest Arkansas.

Position is Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm with ability to work additional hours as needed.

This role is commission eligible up to 25% of base pay, based upon performance.

Summary:

SUMMARY: Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Retirement Plan Consulting, the Senior Retirement Plan Relationship Manager is accountable for servicing of large or complex institutional retirement plans (and related products and services) of $25 million or greater. The incumbent will assist plan sponsors in the following areas: Employee Education, Fiduciary & Compliance Oversight, Investment Selection and Monitoring, Fiduciary Investment Reviews, and Plan Design.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Working in conjunction with the Retirement Plan Advisor and the Equity Portfolio Manager/Portfolio Management group, determine appropriate asset allocation of large to complex retirement plan investments to best meet the investment objective, taking into consideration the Plan Sponsor’s retirement plan needs (typically handling institutional client accounts greater than $25 million).
  • Responsible for assisting the Plan Sponsor with fiduciary and compliance needs. This will include areas such as reviewing and managing 404c related issues, periodically evaluate and review plan design, complete plan benchmarking for fees and service providers (recordkeeping, Third Party Administrator (TPAs), etc).
  • Responsible for assisting the Plan Sponsor with investment selection and monitoring. This will include areas such as assisting with the creation of an Investment Policy Statement, benchmarking plan investment options to peer group and like indices, providing in-depth analysis of investment options on a quantitative and qualitative basis, and reviewing investment alternatives with the investment committee on a regular basis. The incumbent will need to work closely with the Portfolio Manager in all investment related activities and duties.
  • Communicate with Plan Sponsors and internal team members on a regular basis, anticipating and responding to issues and developments, researching issues and opportunities, development new ideas and discussing retirement program solutions as the liaison to the Retirement Plan team. This includes remaining current on the retirement planning philosophy and strategies of all retirement plan options.
  • Provide education to Plan Sponsor’s participants. This will include areas such as customizing an education plan based on the company’s unique demographics, creating customized employee communication, presentations, and workshops for specific educational needs, and providing local one-on-one investment consultations to plan participants.
  • Provide exceptional, personal service to existing employee benefit customers with the intent of increasing Arvest fee income from referrals to other lines of business, such as direct rollovers, mortgage loans, life insurance, etc.
  • Acquire and maintain advanced knowledge in employee benefit rules and regulations and the features of all Arvest Benefit plans.
  • Meet with all plan sponsors at least annually to conduct a plan review.
  • Conduct seminars for existing plan sponsors and their employees. Work closely with your AWM and bank partners around the content for these seminars.
  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to organize verbal and written presentations and possess good customer relation skills with effective sales abilities. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, law, business, or related degree, or equivalent experience required.
  • 7 years of experience in servicing and administering retail and/or institutional retirement plans or financial services required.
  • 7 years of experience installing 401(k)s, profit-sharing plans, etc. interacting with plan participants and trustees required.
  • Experience in handling complex ERISA audits required.
  • Series 66 license required or willing to obtain such a license required.
  • Life & Health insurance or willing to obtain such a license required.
  • Series 7 brokerage licensed or willing to obtain such a license required.
  • Familiarity with dealing with retirement plans and the employee benefit enrollment process, on-going employee communication, and plan reporting requirements are a must for this position required.
  • Thorough understanding of other forms of plans—non-qualified, deferred compensation, Medical Savings Accounts i.e. cancer/intensive care, etc. required
  • Advanced training/designation in employee benefits or insurance preferred: CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist), AIF (Accredit Investment Fiduciary), QKA (Qualified 401K Administrator), QPA (Qualified Pension Administrator)] CRPS (Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist) and CRSP (Certified Retirement Services Professional).
  • Registered Representative with experience working defined contribution plans, 403(b), 457, and 401(a) preferred.
  • Knowledge of rules/regulations around contribution limits, loans, withdrawals, vesting, and plan documents preferred.
