Summary:
SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the IAS Payments Specialist performs critical monitoring, processing and support functions for high-risk domestic and international payment applications. Essential duties and responsibilities include processing of incoming and outgoing high dollar, time sensitive, wire transfer activity via the Fedwire and other payment applications; identifying and resolving errors within the wire system; and identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types . The IAS Payments Specialist will respond to payment inquiries received from both internal and external customers which will include shared service associates, banks and/or other financial institutions. The incumbent must possess the ability to cope with high pressure timelines and large amounts of data while maintaining accuracy and the ability to multitask in a highly regulated environment. The IAS Payments Specialist must have exceptional communication and customer service skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Accurately process domestic inbound/outbound wire payments via internal payment origination. Execute payments efficiently with a low margin of error due to the high risk nature of payments.
- Process and effectively route international USD wire/FX payments as instructed by client to third party international clearing banks.
- Perform outbound funds transfer verification for fraud risk and customer identification on incoming customer calls including customer authentication via security PIN #s and/or third-party identity verification.
- Collaborate proactively/effectively with team to achieve shared goals in meeting department Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure full compliance with state and federal laws, rules and regulations (i.e. Reg E, FFIEC, etc.) by following bank policy and procedures for all facets of line of business.
- Process governmental mandated payment remittances in accordance with specific federal regulations.
- Monitor inbound/outbound fraud related payment activity according to federal regulations/Bank Secrecy Act and associated procedures accurately and in a timely manner. Escalate specific questions related to risk, compliance or loss to the appropriate area as needed.
- Provide call support and service for commercial based clients in need of high value-based wire payment transaction processing including escalation of large dollar transfers and specific system servicing issues as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with internal sales and support teams and other internal and external customers.
- Initiate payments related research requests, inquiries, or disputes via centralized problem resolution tracking system upon request of internal sales support and/or customers
- Perform general analytics and execution of defined payment related credit risk exceptions by referencing multiple internal applications to assess associated bank driven risk tolerances (i.e. acct balance, established credit limits, bank exposure amount, past historical activity).
- Utilize multiple internal servicing systems for research and processing (i.e. Showcase, Signature/CBS, Payments Platform, Nautilus, etc.).
- Periodically assist with the testing and implementation of new applications, enhancements, conversions and/or acquisitions.
- Proactively seek ways to improve efficiencies and propose ideas regarding operational procedures/methods, recommending changes for improvements with an emphasis on automation and efficiency.
- Attend required training and follow regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection and determent of money laundering or other unlawful activities.
- Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

- High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) or equivalent military experience required.
- 3 years operational experience in banking or financial industry or relevant experience required.
