Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the food safety and quality programs in our day to day operations, ensuring the integrity and compliance to our customers. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Duties

· Perform routine daily tasks that ensure the products are manufactured and meet food safety, regulatory, and quality requirements.

· Perform daily operating inspections as needed to ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, and SQF Programs.

· Daily review of HACCP and other plant records but not limited to (work orders, metal detector log, weight forms, QA audits forms/verification forms, allergen logs, pre-operational checklists, etc.) Ensure results are accurate and recorded in a timely manner. Any/all non-conformities must be investigated with other QA technicians, production personnel, and employees).

· Ensuring that all Food Safety Programs are adhered to daily.

· Perform inspections including but not limited to; Production line audits, perform equipment allergen change overs, label verification, metal detector verification etc.

· Collect product retention samples and maintain record on file.

· Performs routine environmental swabs and manages schedule as part of HACCP requirement and prepares samples for outside lab pick up.

· Performs Glass Audit locations for compliance, reports non-conformities, and communicates results to QA & maintenance management.

· Performs routine water samples per procedure and prepare samples for outside lab pick up.

· Perform and support inspections performed by other QA technicians. Duties and tasks are open to rotating when needed.

· Place out of specification material, product, equipment, etc on HOLD and communicate to management. Maintain records in the system and inventory of hold items.

· Maintain accurate and organized QA records daily.

· Participate in monthly and yearly GMP/SQF internal audits.

· Employee Trainer for Food Safety, Food Defense, GMP Policy, Allergen Policy, HACCP.

· Assist with out of specifications root cause analysis and corrective action investigations.

· Work on projects as detailed and requested by QA Management.

· Assist by assigning tasks as needed to sanitation personnel.

· Inspect/release new or repaired equipment before food use.

· Responsible for providing support to promote food safety culture throughout the organization, the empowerment of our employees, establish and implement critical controls that help monitor risks.

· Committed to the continuous improvement of the food safety management system.

· Establish and maintain documentation, communication between senior management and employees.

· Responsible for food safety, follow and promote proper GMP’s, company procedures and regulatory requirements.

· Report all food safety issues and or suspicious activity.

Experience

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written required.

· 2 years in QA experience in Food or Medical

· Strong organizational skills required.

· The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

· The ability to interact and to manage conflict in stressful situations while maintaining composure and perspective.

· The ability to identify and solve problems including prioritizing tasks to ensure efficiency.

· Proficient computer skills including but not limited to; Microsoft office (word, excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

· The ability to work cooperatively and maintain a professional working relationship with cross functional teams, employees, and team members.

· Bilingual speaking preferred, English & Spanish.

Able to work 12 hour shifts, overtime, and weekends to provide coverage during busy season (July to December)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
