Job Summary :
The Reliability and Automation Engineer is responsible for the specification, installation, development, maintenance and improvement of production and facilities equipment including electrical, automation and controls systems that affect safety, quality, reliability and productivity in manufacturing.
Essential Functions :
- Apply expertise in automation and reliability technologies to improve ARx manufacturing processes and support the business strategy.
- Develop and apply expertise in coating thickness gauges, defect detection systems, and other quality control systems.
- Develops modified and new processes for Packaging and Serializing specialized drug delivery therapeutic products.
- Works in close collaboration with cross-functional teams with R&D, Quality, Operations, Marketing and Clients to accomplish successful outcomes.
- Contributes to designing experiments, conducts experiments, collects data and performs data analysis and interpretation. Generates reports and makes recommendations based on sound data interpretation.
- Accurately performs work assignments and computer data analysis.
- Effectively communicates and interacts with other associates and customers.
- Participates in problem-solving and equipment trouble shooting efforts.
- Conducts all work activities in a safe, responsible, and professional manner consistent with all Company Policies, Quality Systems Requirements and Relevant Regulatory Standards (e.g. 21CFR211).
- Develop and apply expertise in machine controls such as PLC, HMI, servos, drives and discrete control systems.
- Ensure the electrical power distribution systems are maintained and serviced regularly.
- Ensure electrical and controls drawings, backups and records are accurate and organized.
- Lead and execute electrical, automation and reliability projects.
- Interface with external contractors, vendors, engineering and design firms.
- Write operating procedures, equipment commissioning and qualification protocols that pertain to your projects. in compliance with 21CFR211 Regulatory standards.
- Provide training to automation system users.
- Actively pursue a strong understanding of the manufacturing processes and operations techniques used at ARx and the coating industry.
- Conduct all aspects of position in a professional, respectful manner consistent with ARx Guiding Principles; embraces 6S LEAN culture; organizes personal work areas and appearance consistent with corporate and divisional professional image
