Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Observe and report any changes in clients' conditions or behaviors to appropriate personnel.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring that all aspects of care are addressed.
- Monitor vital signs as required, maintaining accurate records for healthcare professionals.
- Support clients with dementia care, utilizing effective communication techniques to engage and reassure them.
- Assist with hospice care when necessary, providing comfort and dignity during end-of-life stages.
- Respect resident rights at all times, ensuring privacy and promoting independence.
Skills
- Strong ability to assist individuals with various needs, demonstrating patience and empathy.
- Proficient in patient observation skills to identify changes in health or behavior promptly.
- Knowledge of hospice care principles is a plus, enhancing the quality of end-of-life support.
- Understanding of resident rights and commitment to advocating for clients’ needs.
- Experience in senior care or direct support roles is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with working with individuals on the autism spectrum is beneficial.
- Ability to develop and follow care plans effectively while adapting to changing circumstances.
- Competence in monitoring vital signs and recognizing when medical intervention is necessary.
