Caregiver

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities by offering direct support in their daily activities. Your commitment to patient observation and understanding of resident rights will ensure a safe and nurturing environment for those you care for.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
• Observe and report any changes in clients' conditions or behaviors to appropriate personnel.
• Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring that all aspects of care are addressed.
• Monitor vital signs as required, maintaining accurate records for healthcare professionals.
• Support clients with dementia care, utilizing effective communication techniques to engage and reassure them.
• Assist with hospice care when necessary, providing comfort and dignity during end-of-life stages.
• Respect resident rights at all times, ensuring privacy and promoting independence.

Skills

• Strong ability to assist individuals with various needs, demonstrating patience and empathy.
• Proficient in patient observation skills to identify changes in health or behavior promptly.
• Knowledge of hospice care principles is a plus, enhancing the quality of end-of-life support.
• Understanding of resident rights and commitment to advocating for clients’ needs.
• Experience in senior care or direct support roles is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with working with individuals on the autism spectrum is beneficial.
• Ability to develop and follow care plans effectively while adapting to changing circumstances.
• Competence in monitoring vital signs and recognizing when medical intervention is necessary.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
