Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist clients with mobility and daily living activities.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health status to healthcare professionals.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' social well-being.
- Administer medication as prescribed and manage care schedules.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure nutritional needs are met.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
- Support clients with dementia care or hospice care as needed.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records.
Skills
- Strong understanding of patient care principles, including first aid techniques.
- Experience in dementia care, hospice care, or assisted living environments is preferred.
- Ability to provide direct support to seniors and individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving.
- Knowledge of social work practices is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- A background in nursing or home care is a plus.
