Job Description: ELA Middle School Teacher (Part-Time)
The Middle School Teacher is responsible for creating a supportive, nurturing, and academically stimulating environment for students in Grade 5th to 8th. The teacher will manage all aspects of the homeroom, including curriculum planning, classroom management, student assessment, and fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
Classroom Management:
- Create a safe, positive, and productive classroom environment.
- Implement classroom rules and procedures to ensure student discipline.
- Manage student behavior in a fair, respectful, and effective manner.
Curriculum Planning and Instruction:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum standards.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles.
- Integrate technology and hands-on learning experiences into the curriculum.
- Ensure lessons align with Islamic values and principles.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Assess students’ academic performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and observations.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress.
Communication:
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop new teaching strategies.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with educational research and best practices.
- Attend professional development workshops and training sessions.
- Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Classroom Environment:
- Decorate and maintain an inviting and stimulating classroom environment.
- Ensure classroom materials and resources are well-organized and accessible.
- Promote a culture of respect, inclusivity, and appreciation for diversity.
Student Support:
- Provide individual and small group instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Identify and address students’ academic and social-emotional needs.
- Encourage student participation and engagement in classroom activities.
School Community:
- Contribute to the overall school community by participating in school-wide events and activities.
- Support school policies and procedures.
- Act as a positive role model for students, demonstrating Islamic values and ethics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child development and best practices in education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and software.
- Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting Islamic values.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry classroom materials and supplies.
- Ability to navigate the classroom and school environment effectively.
