Job Description
Auburn University's Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology seeks a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associate to join its team. The selected candidate will contribute to the department's research endeavors, focusing on social science research projects related to rural and farm quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Conduct innovative social science research on various topics, including rural and farm quality of life and farm business management decision-making
- Work with existing data sets on agriculture, forestry, and rural industries regarding challenges and opportunities for rural Alabama
- Collaborate with Dr. Russell and Dr. Taylor on USDA-funded research projects
- Develop and implement survey designs and methodologies
- Analyze and interpret complex quantitative data
Requirements
- Earned Ph.D. in sociology, rural sociology, demography, agricultural economics, or a related field
- Strong background in quantitative methods and statistical analysis
- Proficiency in programming languages such as STATA, R, or Python
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
