**About the Opportunity:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associate to conduct innovative social science research at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology at Auburn University. The successful candidate will work directly with Dr. Russell and Dr. Taylor on USDA funded research, focusing on survey research related to rural quality of life and farm management decision-making.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct quantitative research using large datasets on agriculture, forestry, and rural industries
- Design and implement surveys on rural and farm quality of life and farm management decision-making
- Work closely with researchers and experts in the field to analyze data and identify key trends and insights
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including farmers, policymakers, and industry leaders
**Requirements:**
- Ph.D. in sociology, rural sociology, demography, agricultural economics, or a related field
- Strong analytical and statistical skills, with experience working with quantitative methods and software (e.g., STATA, R, Python)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex research findings to diverse audiences
