What are the responsibilities and job description for the Low Voltage Tech position at ASA Fire Protection?
- This candidate must be self-motivated and possess strong written and verbal communication skills, computer skills, and have a strong sense of self-reliance and drive.
- Must possess the ability to install, program and troubleshoot fire alarm systems with limited or no supervision.
- May require some overtime, occasional weekends and on call for after-hours emergency calls.
- Exceptional work ethic and attention to detail
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- High School diploma or GED certificate.
- Willingness to obtain NICET certifications and maintain Continuing Education.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, how to read blueprints, adhere to safety procedures while working on ladders and with electrical wiring.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Capable of working from heights
- Capable of lifting up to 50lbs
Employment Requirement:
- Must possess a valid Drivers license in good standing.
- Must be able to pass a background test.
- Must pass a Drug Screen
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
- One (1) to three (3) years fire / alarm industry experience.
- CFAT 2 or NICET Certification
- Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, Fire Alarm System Theory, OSHA Requirements, and Industry Standards for Fire Alarm systems installation.
- Ability to troubleshoot circuitry and equipment, understanding of blueprints and wiring schematics & as-built preparation.
- Experience with a variety of system manufacturers including Edwards, Bosch, Notifier, Silent Knight, Gamewell, Honeywell, Firelite, Siemens, etc.
