Position Summary:
We are currently looking for a Logistics Associate to join our team at AKBA! The individual in this role will plan and execute all Equipment Division shipments, including both spare parts and equipment while ensuring the Division meets its on-time delivery metric. Other responsibilities include: arranging same day priority shipments from vendor to vendor; assisting in the packing and bracing of fragile and valuable machinery parts; arranging and planning crating for small to large machinery; ensuring compliance with the company’s export control policy for international shipments; maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of shipments, and shipment documentation.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Logistics and Export Control:
Plan and execute all Equipment Division domestic and international shipments.
Engage with outside parties (Sales Team, carriers, freight forwarders, customers etc.) to ensure documentary requirements are met for every shipment.
Prepare shipping documentation in advance of product shipment.
Notify Accounting of shipments to ensure timely invoicing.
Ensure regulatory compliance by executing the company’s export control policy on international shipments.
Coordinate trade show logistics, including advance shipment of sales collateral, booth materials, and product samples to event venues.
Maintain inventory of packing/shipping materials and supplies.
Fulfill other logistics and administrative tasks as requested.
Order Fulfillment:
Ensure all orders are scheduled to achieve on-time delivery KPI and prevent any order from being overlooked or be delivered late.
Pick available parts and transact accurately and timely in the ERP system – includes spare parts, PM parts, service parts, and spare parts elements of manufacturing orders.
Review Orders before shipment to ensure quality standards are met.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum education: Associate’s degree in business administration or related field.
Experience: Two years in a logistics-related field, including domestic and international freight. Demonstrated effectiveness in planning.
Skills: Familiarity in using UPS, FedEX, and ERP systems (MS-NAV or SAP preferred)
Proficiency with using Microsoft Office tools – especially Excel and Word.
Hands-on mechanical skills with a familiarity with commonly-used tools.
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
The base compensation range for this role is $20-23 an hour. Base Compensation is influenced by many factors including, but not limited to: time in the role, previous experience, skills, knowledge, performance, work requirements, internal equity, and business / economic conditions.
